Categories: Herb Info
Yield: 1 Info

Either make a strong infusion or decoction of herbs to be added to the bath water, or tie them in a piece of cheesecloth or toe of an old stocking and hang beneath the hot water tap so that the water runs thru it into the bath. Or, to get all the goodness, infuse it in a jug of boiling water for a few minutes and t hen ad both the liquid and the herb bag to the bath. Rub the bag briskly over the body, squeezing the juices from the herbs like a sponge. Afterwards, dry the bag out well and it should last for several baths, altho gradually losing its scent.

For an extra-cleansing effect, ad a tablespoon of fine oatmeal or bran to each bag.

simple bathing waters will keep for at least a week in the refrigerator, or 2 to 3 weeks if made with distilled or purified water. a teaspoon of brandy added to each 2 1/2 cups will preserve them for longer. Add one cup of the scented water to each bath.

Oil and vinegar based recipes will keep for as long as you wish, if stored in a cool, shaded place. Tureky red oil is the best oil for bathing, since it will dissolve in water and be absorbed into the skin.
